Policy Excerpts
2002 Policy
Revenues earned on any patentable or copyrightable Intellectual Property owned by or assigned to UNT will be distributed to the faculty, staff or student creator(s) and to UNT as described below, after all expenses associated with the particular Intellectual Property have been recovered by UNT. Net revenues received by UNT will be distributed as follows:
- 50% as direct payment to the creator(s); and
- 50% for support of Research and Technology Transfer at UNT.
1994 Policy
For amounts up to $50,000: 50% to the inventor(s); 50% to UNT.
For amounts over $50,000: 25% to the inventor(s); 75% to UNT.
