1998 Policy
Effective February 9, 1998, the table set forth below shall govern the division all Net Income (gross royalties and other income minus administrative, licensing, legal and other related expenses) resulting from Inventions or copyrightable works to which the University has elected to take title under the Statement of Policy in Regard to Inventions, Patents and Copyrights:
Creators will receive 35% of the First $50,000 and then 25% above $50,000.
2008 Policy
Except as otherwise provided in this policy, the following distribution formula will apply to Net Royalties based on amounts received by Harvard on or after January 1, 2008:
Inventor/Author personal share – 35%
Inventor/Author research share – 15%
Inventor/Author’s Department/Center-directed share (if no department or center to be allocatedby Dean of the School for research purposes) – 15%
Inventor/Author School share – 20%
President’s share – 15%
