"Net Proceeds" means the net amount received by MUSC or its designee from the sale, licensing or other disposition of any Intellectual Property, initially owned, pursuant to this policy, in whole or in part by MUSC, after deduction of all costs reasonably attributable to the protection and distribution of such Intellectual Property, including a fifteen (15) percent 15% deduction from gross income for administration expenses of the FRD, which shall be used to further the objectives and purpose of this Policy, and any reasonable expense of patent or copyright prosecution, maintenance, interference proceedings, litigation, marketing or other dissemination and licensing.

"Net Proceeds" means the net amount received by MUSC or its designee in each fiscal year from the sale, licensing or other disposition of any Intellectual Property, initially owned, pursuant to this policy, in whole or in part by MUSC, after deduction of all costs reasonably attributable to the protection and distribution of such Intellectual Property, including a fifteen (15) percent 15% deduction from gross income for administration expenses of the technology transfer office (TTO), which shall be used to further the objectives and purpose of this Policy, and any reasonable expense of patent or copyright prosecution, maintenance, interference proceedings, litigation, marketing or other dissemination and licensing.

1997 Policy

1997 Policy

"Net Proceeds" or "Annual Net Royalty" shall mean the net amount received by the University in each fiscal year from the sale, licensing or other disposition of any Intellectual Property, initially owned in whole or part by the University after deduction of all costs reasonably attributable to the protection and distribution of such Intellectual Property, including any reasonable expense of patent or copyright prosecution, maintenance, interference proceedings, litigation, marketing or other dissemination and licensing. The costs of protection and distribution shall be assessed at a rate of 15% on the first $200,000 of total, cumulative income plus any out-of-pocket expenses.
