Current Policy
University of Nebraska Bylaws of the Board of Regents (2018)
Every invention or discovery by members of the faculty and staff that results from the performance of duties within the scope of their University employment, or from the use of University personnel, property, facilities, or other resources, except where such use is minimal, shall be solely owned by the University provided that the inventor or inventors shall have a share of no less than one-third (1/3) of the net proceeds received by the University resulting from licensing or sale of University owned intellectual property rights associated with such invention or discovery.
